PRP- Regenerative treatments
What is PRP?
Your blood is made up of a liquid called plasma and some small solid components – red cells, white cells, and platelets. You may be familiar with platelets’ best-known role, which is in helping blood to clot. Platelets also contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors, which are very important in healing injuries and stimulating new cell growth.
PRP (or platelet-rich plasma) is plasma with a higher concentration of platelets that are typically found in blood. PRP may contain 5 or 10 times the average number of platelets, so it is extremely rich in growth-factor proteins. PRP is also prepared in a way that strains out the other solids — red and white blood cells.
What can we treat with PRP?
- PRP for hair loss
- PRP for facial rejuvenation and face lift
- PRP for vaginal rejuvenation
- PRP for stress urinary incontinence

How is PRP obtained for treatment?
To develop a PRP preparation, your clinician draws your blood, usually from your arm. Using a special centrifuge, the drawn blood is spun for about 10 minutes until it naturally separates into 3 layers: platelet-rich plasma, platelet-poor plasma, and red and white blood cells. The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is what will be used in treatment injections.

What Is the Difference Between PRP Therapy and Dermal Fillers?
While dermal fillers contain an element that mimics your skin’s natural chemicals, PRP therapy is made from your actual cells. Dermal fillers are a gel-like substance that fills in fine lines, while PRP therapy prompts your body to make new collagen and skin cells, which generates younger-looking volume and develops a softer texture and brighter tone in your skin; rather than targeting specific lines and wrinkles, PRP therapy improves the look and feel of the whole treatment area. While dermal fillers are absorbed by the body within 6 months to a year, requiring another treatment, PRP therapy lasts for 1 to 2 years. In addition, PRP therapy can be performed on areas where dermal fillers are unsafe.
